South Carolina State House
The South Carolina State House building in Columbia holds the offices of the Governor of South Carolina, the Lieutenant Governor, and the South Carolina General Assembly. The South Carolina State House is located near the corner of Assembly and Gervais Streets. The State House building was only completed in 1907, after a whopping fifty years since construction was first started. Construction had to be halted during the Civil War.
